Engineering Manager

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. 

We are seeking a forward-thinking Engineering Manager  to mentor and guide our engineering team. The Engineering Manager  is crucial in driving the design process and spearheading problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts within the engineering team, RSMs, and customers ensuring innovative solutions and effective resolution of challenges in high-level projects.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Guide Engineering Department with problem solving and solution creation in product design and testing to improve productivity.
• Identify and implement process and product improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste and increase efficiency.
• Oversee high-level engineering projects, providing technical expertise and leadership to meet project requirements and deadline.
• Utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software (Solid Works or Master Cam preferred) to facilitate design and drafting processes.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of food processing.
• Apply knowledge and understanding of pump design, manufacturing, and testing.
• Conceptualize in 3D and apply critical and creative thinking skills to deliver effective design solutions that meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Sales, to ensure alignment with project goals and customer needs.
• Follow all housekeeping procedures and comply with all quality and safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. 
• 3-5 years of experience using CAD software; Solid Works or Master Cam preferred.
• 3-5 years in a mid-level managerial role.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps and mixing and blending applications is a plus (sanitary or industrial).
• Prior experience with food processing equipment.
• Familiarity with the principles of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum 8-10 years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with preferred experience in the food or beverage processing industry.
• Minimum 2-5 years of previous Supervisory experience.
