Performance Engineer

Tal-Ex is working with a product company that focuses on enterprise application development to identify a Performance Engineer for a direct hire role. We're looking for an experienced QA Engineer that will be responsible for end-to-end testing of web sites and web service applications, and for specifying, designing, implementing, and running automated tests.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs various facets of testing on assigned projects, including but not limited to functional, regression, smoke, load, performance.
2. Handles design and code reviews.
3. Test plan development and automated testing.
4. Handles an enterprise performance test/load framework to be utilized for all projects.
5. Builds the proper performance/load test scenarios from scratch.
6. Collaborates with other team members or acts individually to resolve problems and complete projects.
7. Installs code into QA environment and maintains environmental integrity.
8. Works directly with development and system administrators to handle any issues.
9. Supports production code installs as appropriate.
10. Meets and adapts to changing deadlines.
11. Understands team’s strategy and objectives.

Desired Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
2. 3 - 7 years of experience testing consumer-facing web sites and CMS's.
3. Possesses working knowledge in Linux/Unix commands and in programming with Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
4. Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical testing skills.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Should be well-organized, a quick self-learner, highly focused, and able to own a task through to completion.
7. Experience using a defect tracking system and writing bugs that anticipate the needs for resolution.
8. Ability to write test plans and test cases for new and existing products, with good understanding of project life cycle.
9. Ability to multi-task and handle managing assignments on multiple projects.
10. Testing experience with Apache/Tomcat applications, including performing basic operations as start/stop, etc.
11. Experience with automation/scripting tools (Selenium WebDriver, Ruby, Shell Scripting, etc.) is a plus.
12. Demonstrated hands-on experience using performance/load testing tools (Siege, JMeter, webpagetest, etc.).
13. Must have experience setting up and building an enterprise performance test framework.
14. Deep knowledge of how web applications work over HTTP protocol.
15. Solid mobile testing experience with iOS and Android and can perform basic troubleshooting.
16. Working knowledge of integrating performance frameworks with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, Travis CI, etc.
