Position Description:
We are looking for a SharePoint Online Engineer/Developer with a strong background in Microsoft technologies, including the Power Suite, to design, develop, and maintain SharePoint solutions that meet our business needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in API integrations, UI/UX methodologies, web development, and integrating with ServiceNow. Familiarity with VMware, Elastic, and Cisco technologies is also essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint Online solutions, including custom web parts, workflows, and integrations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Implement and manage API integrations with Microsoft Power Suite, ServiceNow, and other platforms.

Develop user-friendly interfaces and enhance the user experience of SharePoint applications.

Work closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure SharePoint solutions align with business objectives.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SharePoint-related issues.

Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our SharePoint environment.

 

Performance Objectives:

 

Within your first 30 days:

Complete onboarding process, including necessary training on company policies, procedures, and tools.

Familiarize yourself with the organization's mission, values, and strategic goals.

Review existing SharePoint infrastructure, architecture, and current projects.

Meet with IT team members and key stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.

Gain access to and explore related systems, including the Microsoft stack, ServiceNow, and any others needed for the role.

Conduct a gap analysis to identify areas for improvement in the current SharePoint setup.

Begin documentation of existing processes and workflows.

 

Within 60 days:

Begin active participation in ongoing SharePoint projects and initiatives.

Develop and implement small-scale SharePoint solutions, focusing on enhancing existing functionalities.

Work on API integrations with Microsoft Power Suite and ServiceNow, focusing on immediate business needs.

Continue building relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Establish regular communication channels to keep stakeholders informed about project progress and changes.

Identify any additional skills or knowledge gaps and participate in relevant training or learning opportunities.

 

Within 90 days:

Take the lead on significant SharePoint projects, driving them from conception to completion.

Implement more complex integrations and customizations, ensuring they align with business objectives and user needs.

Develop a strategic roadmap for future SharePoint enhancements, considering scalability, user experience, and business goals.

Present findings and recommendations to senior management for approval and support.

Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions.

Begin the process of continuous improvement based on user input and industry best practices.

 

Ongoing:

Regularly assess the SharePoint environment to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.

Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in SharePoint and related technologies.

Provide ongoing support for SharePoint solutions, addressing any technical issues promptly.

Ensure the environment is secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards.

Conduct training sessions for end-users to maximize adoption and effective use of SharePoint tools.

Develop user-friendly documentation and resources to support self-service and troubleshooting.

Implement monitoring and reporting tools to track the performance and usage of SharePoint applications.

Use data-driven insights to inform future development and improvement efforts.

Foster strong partnerships with other departments to support broader organizational goals and initiatives.

Explore opportunities to expand SharePoint solutions to other areas of the business.

Position Requirements:
Proven experience as a SharePoint Engineer/Developer.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Suite, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.

Experience with API integrations and web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.).

Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and methodologies.

Experience integrating SharePoint with ServiceNow.

Knowledge of Microsoft, VMware, Elastic, and Cisco technologies.

Knowledge of Azure services.

Understanding of security principles and best practices for SharePoint.

Basic project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies.

Ability to translate the business and functional requirements into systems designs.

Ability to leverage Power BI for advanced data analytics and reporting.

Experience optimizing SharePoint applications for mobile devices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate, are a plus.
