Job Description

Our team is supporting energy industry partners in the identification and prioritization of risk in vegetation management, asset management, wildfires, and pipelines. As a key part of this effort, you’ll have the opportunity to join forces with a large utility provider's Emergency Operations Center to improve the cloud infrastructure of their essential applications. Our efforts will ensure critical decision-making data and dashboards are available to industry partners when time is of the essence.

As a Lead Developer, you'll support all aspects of the software development lifecycle. You'll team with solution architects and developers on the translation of architectures into functional requirements, and subsequently into software and deployment designs. We invite your thought leadership, business savvy, and ideas in this influential role where you’ll make recommendations for improvements and impact important technical decisions.

About you

  • You have proven experience leading software delivery with teams of five or more.
  • You understand how Kubernetes works and how to customize and administer a Kubernetes cluster.
  • You can design, develop, and implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • You value customer experience and focus on what is possible versus what is standard practice in the industry.
  • You have excellent product instincts, a passion for great app experiences, a data-centric mindset, and the willingness to do what it takes to have a positive impact on our customers.
  • You can identify the appropriate software tools to use within the client ecosystem.
  • You consistently ensure web standards are met and platforms are fully functional before delivery to clients.
  • You have proven expertise in industry SDLC best practices, Scrum/Agile, and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of production experience as a DevOps Engineer and Software Developer
  • Hands-on experience customizing and administering a Kubernetes cluster
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes operators, and deploying software on Kubernetes, preferably on EKS
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure as code, specifically Terraform
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with Git or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

Preferred Experience

  • Experience building server-side APIs with Node.js and Typescript
  • Experience building UIs with React.js or Angular
  • NOSQL experience is a plus
