Job Description

This role requires quality experience, preferably in supplier quality. Interaction with suppliers is essential, regardless of the engineering function.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Problem solving and root cause analysis skills, not necessarily CAPA oriented.
2. Experience within a regulated environment (e.g., medical or aerospace).
3. A technical and engineering background/experience is a must.
4. Drive improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers.
5. Provide technical support in the selection of suppliers and develop acceptance criteria for materials.
6. Monitor supplier performance to drive corrective action, manufacturing yield issues, and field failures.
7. Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Specific duties include:

1. Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
2. Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures and train inspectors.
3. Develop and/or source inspection tools and equipment.
4. Assist in generating component specifications.
5. Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports, and approve components for use in products.
6. Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
7. Analyze incoming material defects and drive corrective action as necessary.
8. Review new design specifications and provide input from component quality and manufacturability perspective.
9. Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans where necessary.

Qualifications

Provide Process/Quality Engineering support to manufacturing and product development teams, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality products. A Bachelor's degree is required.
