Privacy Engineer, Google Cloud Privacy

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience designing solutions that maintain or enhance the privacy posture of the organization by analyzing and assessing proposed engineering designs (e.g., product features, infrastructure systems) and working with stakeholders.
• 2 years of experience applying privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions, etc.), and customizing existing solutions and frameworks to meet organizational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in machine learning, generative AI, or similar fields.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Vertex AI.
• Experience in Python or Go.
• Experience balancing risks in ambiguous and complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of common regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

In this role, you will design and build privacy into Google Cloud products. You will help Google Cloud Platform (GCP) get our products launched with privacy compliance. You will also help GCP with the launch journey so that the privacy risks to the customer, Google, and our products are as well documented and minimized as possible.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and lead implementation of AI/ML privacy-enhancing solutions alongside engineering teams.
• Conduct privacy reviews and impact assessments of high complexity using a variety of tools and evaluation techniques.
• Own and drive the resolution of complex privacy policy and technical issues.
• Help define GCP's privacy strategy and procedures and work cross-functionally to implement these procedures.
