Programmer/Writer

Are you an experienced Programmer/Writer with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you! Our client is seeking an experienced Programmer/Writer to work at their company in Redmond, WA.

Position Summary: The main function of a Technical Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing, and maintaining technical records and files.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications
• 8-10 years experience required
• Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Ability to read some programming code
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Years of Experience Required: 8 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required: A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required to be eligible for this role.
• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain cloud services experience, strong technical communication experience, and instruction manual drafting experience.
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, and adhering to timelines, as well as quality of outcome – can we give the completed work a developer with 3-5 years' experience and they would be able to autonomously execute the steps successfully.
• Minimum 8 years experience with cloud or other tech.
• Minimum 8 years experience with technical writing/communications
• Minimum 8 years experience with manual/instructional writing.
