Position Summary

AirJoule is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to define and lead our unit electrical and control efforts. The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role that will enable the success of our operations and engineering teams. The role will design electrical panels, help us implement a product control roadmap, work with product engineering to integrate motors and controls into a robust framework, and engage with application engineering to improve data integrity and unit control logic. This is a critical role in the company and enables the growth of our business on a global scale.

  • Lead the production and management of comprehensive electrical design packages.
  • Manage in-house and third-party design, prototyping, and testing of electrical products.
  • Act as the primary technical resource internally for all controls and electrical design, data acquisition and controls system requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on design documents, ensuring compliance, constructability, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with external consultants for fabrication of electronic controls, sensor systems, and connectivity systems.
  • Support procurement and construction teams with bills of materials, technical data evaluation, and design change inquiries.
  • Conduct lab testing and oversee UL certification.
  • Manage and refine internal design tools, templates, and processes.
  • Design control panel layouts and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop product control roadmap from control panel to circuit board.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to integrate new motor and instrumentation schemes.
  • Design and install electrical and controls systems that operate bench test units of various subassemblies.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and provide feedback for simplified supplier solutions.
  • Lead the ruggedization of the electrical subsystems to enable a global deployment strategy.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum Experience: 2-5 years of proven electrical engineering design experience in new product development, with mechanical controls and sensor systems.
  • Preferred Certification: PE Licensure / EIT certification


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in a start up environment preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting/modeling programs.
  • Experience with Altium PCB Designer.
  • Programming experience with LabView, C++, or Python
  • Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated safe working record with 3-phase power systems including 208V 3-phase
  • Controls and instrumentation experience
  • Experience with component lifetime testing and maintenance schedule optimization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, detail-oriented and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
