Job Description

The Dynatrace Observability Monitoring Engineer (Sr. IT Systems Engineer) will lead technology projects and initiatives with application and cloud infrastructure teams to build and mature observability, application performance monitoring (APM), dashboards, and synthetic monitoring using Dynatrace and other monitoring/operations engineering technology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification of monitoring and observability gaps by building relationships with application and cloud infrastructure engineers

  • Collaborate with and provide expertise to Application/Infrastructure/DevOps teams to build, implement, and tune dashboards, scripts, and alerts to achieve observability and monitoring business goals

  • Consult with application and cloud infrastructure engineers to mature their ability to self-service implement monitoring and observability capabilities for their platforms

  • Subject matter expert on Dynatrace

  • Maintain OnPrem and Cloud Monitoring solutions such as installation, patching, and lifecycle management.

  • Work with Operations Leadership to advance our strategy, produce metrics and report on forecasted demand, capacity, and overall system health for On-Prem and Cloud Monitoring Solutions.

  • Implement changes into production environment following change control methodology

  • Serve as problem-solving partner and cross-train others

  • Proactively manage availability and scalability

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Experience with specific domain relevant to team

  • 5 years of experience with infrastructure technologies - APM and/or Observability technology with direct experience with Dynatrace

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Exceptional knowledge of AppDynamics, Netcool, New Relic, AWS Cloud Platforms, GCP or other cloud technologies

  • Broad knowledge of IT Systems engineering

  • Understanding and ability to work on various OS platforms including AIX, Linux, Windows and Ansible Automation

  • Excellent written, technical, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and independently

  • Capable and willing to receive work direction from direct and indirect leadership

  • Ability to transition abstract concepts into technical deployment designs

  • Ability to develop decision criteria and develop unbiased technology comparisons

  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills

  • Strong traits of decisiveness and judgment

  • Ability to develop decision criteria and develop unbiased technology comparisons

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working within Dynatrace Observability, Monitoring and APM technologies

  • Broad knowledge of other APM/Observability/Event & Alerting tools such as Netcool, New Relic, AppDynamics, SumoLogic

  • Broad knowledge of IT Systems engineering such as Linux, Windows, AWS and GCP Cloud technologies

  • Understanding and ability to work in various OS platforms including Linux, Windows, AIX

  • API configuration and coding experience with Perl, C++, Python, Bash, PowerShell to create automation workflows

  • Experience working in environment with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)

  • Previous experience in PBM / health care industry

Minimum Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call, and shifts outside of Prime’s core business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to a Manager in the IT department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $87,200.00 - $139,400.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
