We are looking for an ambitious individual who will thrive in a high-performance team supporting world-class products.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesIdentify, analyze, define, and communicate service issues for solution developmentAct as a technical liaison between the PACCAR field organization and Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing organizationsSupport root cause identification of internal combustion engine and component failures through in-depth data analysis and testingGuide the engine disassembly, inspection, and measurement processes to determine the root cause of engine and component failuresTrack and communicate solution development and implementationSupport solution validation planning and executionProvide direction and technical guidance to field service personnelProvide on-site customer support as requiredProvide advanced troubleshooting support for engine and aftertreatment systemsLeverage outside resources and work cross-functionally with other groups to solve customer engine and aftertreatment system issues as they arisEffectively communicate with dealership personnel, field service, and other expertsConsult with subject matter experts to establish detailed information needed for problem resolutionQualifications3+ years of relevant work experience in heavy-duty diesel engine design, testing or field serviceCompetency in fatigue wear mechanisms and analysisExperience interacting with and interpreting large datasetsStatistical methods and applications to engineer problemsUnderstand diesel engine and aftertreatment design and operationSelf-directed, excellent analysis skills and engineering judgment requiredAbility to summarize technical issues and communicate effectivelyOrganized and disciplined with ability to manage workload and project demandsUnderstanding of problem-solving process and six-sigma toolsMS Office, Matlab, Minitab or equivalent statistical software package proficiencyAbility to travel up to 10%.EducationBS in Mechanical Engineering or other appropriate field required, MS preferred.Company InformationPACCAR is a Fortune 500 company established in 1905.
