The CAD Designer & CMM Operator is a unique position that allows a variety in the work day. The responsibilities include creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for use in the manufacturing and construction industries. You will work with engineers and project managers to produce designs that meet specific requirements and can be manufactured or constructed efficiently. The CMM role involves programming, set-up, and operating the coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to ensure accurate measurement of parts and components. You will work with a team of other technicians, quality control, and managers to ensure the highest precision in parts and products.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with engineers, and other professionals to determine project requirements and specificationsCreate technical drawings and plans using CAD softwareIncorporate design changes and modifications as neededEnsure that designs are accurate and meet all project requirementsReview and analyze drawings and plans to identify potential issues and solutionsProgram CMM to measure parts and components to meet design specifications, using software programs.Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on CMM equipment as required.Ensure CMM is working at optimal capacity for accuracy and efficiency.Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams, and assist with finding solutions to quality issues.Complete inspection documentation and report discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and quality standards.Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.Communicate regularly with project team members to ensure that all project goals are metStay up-to-date with the latest design software and techniquesQualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field2+ years of experience working as a CAD Programmer and/or CMM Operator .Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SketchUpExpertise in CMM programming and use of relevant software applications.Aptitude for interpreting blueprints and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.Analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions to problems.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong attention to detail and ability to work independentlyAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyIf you are detail-oriented, skilled in programming and operating CMMs, CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SketchUp, and passionate about accuracy and quality, this could be a great position for you.
