Joining Mutual of Omaha as a Full Stack Java Engineer presents an exceptional opportunity to spearhead critical integrations within our Workplace Solutions division. With a focus on modernization efforts leveraging your expertise in Java, Spring Boot and JavaScript, your role will be instrumental in bridging on-premises and cloud technologies for our Fortune 500 business. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary Engineer I: $95,000 - $115,000, plus annual bonus
  • Estimated Salary Engineer II: $110,000 - $130,000, plus annual bonus
  • Benefits and Perks, 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 56 hours of personal time in 2024, prorated based on the start date.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Contribute towards the back-to-front development, testing, maintenance, and integration of applications/systems
  • Ideation and brainstorming sessions to devise creative and disruptive digital solutions; builds apps, APIs, and data solutions to drive toward implementation of those solutions
  • Occasionally play multiple roles (e.g. individual contributor, lead, teacher, mentor)
  • Get to know the supported business area(s), have an awareness of related objectives and challenges
  • Evaluate options and the performance tradeoffs/benefits

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Professionally solved challenges for full-stack application development and implementation over the last three or more years with:
  • Java, Spring / Spring Boot, advanced experience in a JavaScript framework, SQL, Rest APIs, microservices
  • Develops unit tests (JUnit/Spock) and uses version control
  • Collaborative attitude and a willingness to work with team members
  • Driven to pick up new tech through research and investigation
  • You Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions and listen courageously and remain curious in all that you do.
  • You are able to work remotely and have access to high-speed internet and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
