Radiance Technologies , a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Senior Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Engineer to support a U.S. Space Force program. This position requires a talented and experienced PNT Engineer to lead and contribute to a PNT engineering team within a larger, multidisciplined team to perform the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process, including analysis/feasibility, planning/requirements, design, system development, testing, deployment, maintenance, evaluation, and disposition/disposal. The PNT Engineer will be required to lead and contribute to Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A); Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulations; prototyping; and other activities necessary for the SDLC process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the PNT engineering team and provide PNT Subject Matter Expertise (SME).
- Serve as the primary interface with internal and external stakeholders regarding the system PNT design and capability.
- Design, perform, and manage PNT MS&A; SWIL and HWIL simulations; prototyping; and other activities to establish and verify PNT system concepts.
- Plan, perform, and manage PNT system design, development, integration, and test and evaluation activities as necessary.
- Identify, manage, and communicate program and project risks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
- Proven ability to lead a PNT engineering team.
- Experience in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Global Positioning System (GPS), and Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR).
- Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing through producing test plans, final reports, process instructions, or other equivalent activities.
- Experience supporting systems engineering technical reviews to include Design Concept Review (DCR), System Functional Review (SFR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Final Design Review (FDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Production Readiness Review (PRR).
- Experience with hardware, software, and documentation configuration management.
- Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Required Experience
- Minimum 12 years’ experience performing and leading PNT engineering activities across the SDLC process.
- Experience with projects using Agile methodologies, Digital Engineering (DE), and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience utilizing MATLAB and/or Python code to perform MS&A; data analysis and reduction; and SWIL and HWIL simulation control and automation.
- Experience performing detailed design activities, including iterative systems engineering; mission thread development and analysis; trade studies; hardware/software design; and prototyping, necessary for the SDLC process.
- Experience with space systems material handling requirements.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
- 20+ years’ experience performing and leading PNT engineering activities across the SDLC process.
- Experience with Government or commercial spaceflight projects.
- Experience with aerospace system lifecycle design for launch, mission operations, and end-of-mission disposal.
- Active SECRET clearance.
