Vac-Con a leader in manufacturing of combinations sewer cleaning, hydro-excavation and high-pressure water jetting equipment is in need of a application engineer to develop features and systems on various products. As a controls applications engineer, you will apply your knowledge of the vehicle systems and controls to create systems to meet customer needs. Experience with popular programming languages like Python, Java, HTML 5, Node Red, C++, CoDeSys a plus. Experience in creating HMI for equipment a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support development of new products and features.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including engineers, to define project goals, scope, and deliverables for the success of the project.
- Work with sales and marketing to create features, products, and system to meet customer needs.
- Develop Error coding to help troubleshoot CAN based systems.
- Develop calibration protocol for production test operations.
- Develop HMI graphics and user interfaces including buttons, joysticks and displays.
- Coordinate with Engineering Team on any control related tests/changes.
- Attend sponsored vendor training programs in order to become proficient with various development tools.
- Participate in scheduled meetings to review designs and field feedback.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Ability to identify process and design improvements.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor Preferred.
- Working knowledge of Python, Java, HTML 5, Node Red, C++, COSESYS is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent presentation skills, effectively communicate with the management.
- Must have troubleshooting skills.
- Must be self-starter, motivated and perform well under pressure.
