Edge Research is a woman-owned small business that provides marketing research services to nonprofits, associations, foundations, government agencies, corporations, and other institutions.


Edge Research has an immediate opening for a Market Research Survey Programmer to join the team. Primary responsibilities include survey programming and launching our online surveys, performing back-end data processing, coding, and, on some occasions, formatting and presenting the data in accordance with company standards. We prefer individuals with at least 2 years of experience in a marketing research firm.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Program, test, and debug online interactive market research surveys using Forsta Surveys or UNICOM Intelligence Professional, testing tools, techniques, and procedures, acting as a resource to colleagues who encounter technical challenges
  • Investigate and resolve programming issues as they occur
  • Implement daily quality assurance procedures leading to zero-defects in survey programming and back-end data management
  • Back-end data management, including closing surveys, preparing topline tables and running crosstabs.
  • Technical liaison and collaboration between project managers, research managers and clients regarding programming and technical survey requirements
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned and works closely with senior research analysts
  • Manage operational tasks conducted by third-party vendors and ensures they are running smoothly
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the development and delivery of specific online surveys
  • Assist with sample management and distribution, including but not limited to sending and tracking email invites and reminders to potential online survey respondents
  • Thoroughly document processes from project start to finish
  • Adhere to GDPR rules and regulations when manipulating sensitive data.

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Forsta Surveys (formerly Decipher) is required ; experience with UNICOM Intelligence Professional (formerly IBM SPSS Data Collection / Dimensions) and mrStudio are a plus
  • Experience with any of the following: Web developing, CSS, HTML5, Visual Basic, JavaScript, Python, R, ASP, Flash, XML, SPSS Statistics, Stata, or SAS are also a plus
  • A strong aptitude for picking up computer and statistical programming languages
  • Experience in, or an interest in learning, the quantitative research process including various survey research methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills, is self-directed (i.e., can work independently), but is also comfortable collaborating with a group
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of creating project timelines and adhering to them.
  • Brings strategic, methodical and judicious thinking to projects and challenges
  • Meticulous and pays close attention to detail
  • Systematically analyzes situations and implements solutions
  • Excellent communication skills; must be able work with a team to ensure that the programmed output matches team expectations
  • Enjoys learning new skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and works efficiently under tight deadlines, can manage multiple projects within allotted time and stays on budget
  • High level of competency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • College degree not required but extremely valued


Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 and is commensurate with experience. There is also bonus potential. Our robust benefits package currently includes, but is not limited to, hybrid or remote position, medical and dental benefits, 401(k), and a health savings account.


Location:

This position may be hybrid if the selected candidate resides near Edge Research’s headquarters in Arlington, VA. This position may also be fully remote, and there will be required travel to Edge Research’s headquarters at least four times per year.
