Data Acquisition Engineer (Night Shift)

Our three divisions, Engineering and Test, Technical Services, and Mission Systems make DTB a diverse and interesting place to work. Shift hours are from 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM ET. New hire will receive on the job training during first shift hours from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM ET before starting on the second shift.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  1. Organize/provide data acquisition and instrumentation training/support to new/junior employees
  2. Regularly reports project status to assigned Project Manager (PM)
  3. Organize and maintain the sensor inventory/database and new equipment procurement
  4. Organize and maintain the load/motion control and data acquisition controllers
  5. Manage projects to complete tasks within budget and on-schedule
  6. Ensure ISO 9000 standards and policies are adhered to
  7. Stay current on latest technologies as it relates to electrical metering and data acquisition products
  8. Review and recommend change to all systems, policies, and procedures as needed to enhance the mission of the organization
  9. Configure and conduct testing with MTS load control and data acquisition hardware and software for structural test programs (training in this area can be accommodated during onboarding)

Required Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable
  2. 2+ years of experience in research & development or test & evaluation environment
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  4. More specifically, experience developing mathematical formulas such as IF-THEN statements and organizing/cleaning data through conditional formatting
  5. Hands on experience using tools for mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic repairs
  6. Knowledge of technical concepts relating to instrumentation, data acquisition, signal conditioning & sensors
  7. Electrical/software troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications:


  1. Prior experience developing load control and data acquisition hardware/software for endurance simulation, or static/dynamic load application
  2. The ideal candidate can demonstrate proficiency in one or all of the following:
    1. MTS load control and data acquisition hardware and software
    2. LabView
    3. Developing, testing, and debugging software programs using LabView (should be up to date with latest version of LabView)
    4. Macros, recipes, and scripts for use with LabView in performing automatic test functions
    5. Instrument communication protocols like RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, GPIB, USB, etc.
