A financial firm is looking for a Database Cloud Engineer to join their team. This role is remote (must work EST hours).


Pay: $110-115/hr


Must be a USC/GC, L2 enhanced required


Responsibilities:

• Engineer cloud (AWS) database solutions that balance performance, durability and security

• Assist in migrating on-prem database(oracle and SQL) to AWS

• Experience deploying and maintaining multi-region database deployments in AWS

• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform and Gitlab

• Assist in diagnosing and remediating problems including Database performance issues

• Containerize code and COTS tools

• Write IaC code to install custom applications and COTS tools in AWS

• Take software as a black box to install and rehydrate in AWS

• Assist in ad hoc projects, assignments and responsibilities as necessary


Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or at least 7+ years relevant work experience as Cloud Engineer with focus in IaC, AWS

• Experience with cloud and SaaS database – AWS, Databricks, Mongo Atlas, NoSql

• Experience deploying and maintaining multi-region database deployments in AWS

• Kubernetes (EKS) expertise

• Knowledge of AWS IAM concepts and principles

• Practical understanding of infrastructure technologies – compute, network and storage

• Working knowledge and hands-on experience of VPC, AWS Transit VPC, Transit Gateway,Direct Connect methodologies

• Experience working with Terraform and Gitlab
