We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (New Graduate) in our Philadelphia, PA office. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. This position will be expected to work within the project's monetary budget as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standardsInteract with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communicationWork as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Assist in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectivesAssist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progressAnalyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutionsParticipate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirementsStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEGPrioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with mechanical systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsRequired Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsStrong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics as it relates to mechanical systems design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for buildingsKnowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools including HVAC load calculation softwareExcellent communication and interp rsonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to learn and adapt to new challengesBasic knowledge in the use of BIM software.Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight staysEducation and ExperienceBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent requiredPrior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferredEngineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferredThis position is not eligible for sponsorshipPhysical RequirementsRegularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 poundsOccasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pullWill have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noisesSo what are you waiting for?
