Job Summary:

SAVA is looking for a Veritas Enterprise Vault Engineer to work in Washington, DC. The Enterprise Vault is hosted on physical and virtualized Windows Servers and therefore requires the Contractor to provide a wide range of support tasks. Personnel assigned to this task must have the ability to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

  1. Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
  2. Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
  3. Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems. Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
  4. Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
  5. Provides technical support for system users.
  6. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  7. Participates in teleconferences or technical meetings to review, educate, and support program objectives.
  8. Performs configurations, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting using current engineering documentation; records configurations change requests through the established change control board.
  9. Processes storage requests, migrations, and decommission tasks.
  10. Monitors failed system components and coordinates logistics, vendor support, and site support as needed.
  11. Responds to monitoring alerts and warnings with prompt corrective actions and escalations.
  12. Completes all scheduled maintenance in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  13. Prevents data loss or storage system outages by exercising a high level of attention to detail during maintenance.
  14. Manages technology in remote environments.
  15. Reviews and processes tickets related to supported system according to the established service level agreements tracked within the service manager database.
  16. Provides initial response, Level 1, and Level 2 escalation for outages.
  17. Schedules maintenance actions in a timely manner.
  18. Creates Power Shell and VBS scripts as needed to automate routine maintenance tasks.
  19. Facilitates the migration of system into cloud infrastructure.
  20. Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and systems.
  21. Reviews system and application logs to verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  22. Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrades administrative tools and utilities; upgrades end user applications.
  23. Configures/adds new services as necessary.
  24. Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  25. Prepares and reviews technical assessments to include required tasks, estimated time frames, and effort for any scope project.
  26. Provides before/or after core hour work as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

An active Top Secret with SCI eligibility is required for consideration

Minimum of 4 years of Systems Engineer/Administrator experience.

Minimum of 2 years of previous experience in architecture and design of complex high-available systems.

Minimum of 1 year Experience researching and resolving customer product support complaints and issues.

Possess at least 3 years of Veritas eDiscovery 10 or industry recognized review platform Experience.

System administration knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2016, 2019, and Microsoft O365.

Experience administrating and supporting Microsoft Windows server 2016/2019 in a large physical and virtual infrastructure.

Full understanding of DNS, WINS, DHCP, and LDAP compliant directories.

Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure/Amazon AWS), and network architecture.

Experience with VMware virtualization administration and tools, Vsphere console, and a firm understanding of virtualized infrastructure concepts.

Disaster recovery and ancillary messaging components.

In-depth knowledge of email archival systems messaging systems, system administration and architecture expertise.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and excellent troubleshooting skills, as well as work in a team environment.

Posted Salary Range:

$133,000 - $150,000
