A growing Automotive Manufacture is seeking a Controls, Paint Maintenance Engineer in their West Point Georgia plant. The Paint Maintenance Engineer is responsible for technical support pertaining to paint equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with automation, design, installation, and repair of manufacturing and assembly equipment, to include PLC programming (preferably A/B or Siemens).

Essential Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze assigned equipment problems, suggest countermeasures.
  • Execute action plans to achieve maintenance downtime targets.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all environmental rules.
  • Assist maintenance group with managing key maintenance indicators such as budget, downtime, manpower, preventive maintenance, spare parts, and computerized system.
  • Manage and monitor the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance material (include tools, subsidiary materials, oil).
  • Monitor and control spare parts purchasing and usage.
  • Execute the maintenance department’s action plan to achieve the yearly operation plan
  • Manage internal and external contractors.
  • Create specifications and drawings for new equipment or parts using various CAD software.
  • Update specifications and drawings upon completion of equipment improvement projects.
  • Assist Group Leaders in the training of team members on new equipment and new technology.


Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related field along with progressive experience in the maintenance field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC programming (preferably A/B or Siemens).
  • Experience with automation, design, installation, and repair of equipment.
  • Capacity to understand schematics and specifications of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
