Overview

The Sponsor is seeking support for a joint Department of Homeland Security initiative which is comprised of frontend, backend, and DevOps operations.

Software Engineer

The Sponsor is seeking support for a joint Department of Homeland Security initiative. This program includes development of new system capabilities; extension and maintenance of bulk data pipeline; and enhancements for the program's application hosted on multiple platforms including the Sponsor's cloud computing environment. The Software Engineer will design and develop complex middleware software primarily written in Python and Bash. They will interact with ISSM for approval of security relevant changes. They will provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in the existing systems and platforms for on-premise and cloud data centers. The Software Engineer will troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for software systems and applications issues. They will collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers. They will provide recommendations for continuous improvement in an Agile environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with Amazon Cloud Services (AWS) Cloud solutions.
2. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with system security accreditation.
3. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with modern programming languages including Python and Bash.
4. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience providing ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
5. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex problems and providing customer support for software systems and application issues.
6. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience developing and implementing solutions in a dispersed team environment.
7. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience with DevOps support.
8. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience using MySQL and Elasticsearch.
9. (Mandatory) Demonstrated experience or knowledge of authentication, data repositories, and modeling tools.
10. (Desired) Demonstrated experience supporting the technical processing of vetting requests for analytical comparison against the Sponsor's holdings.
11. (Desired) Demonstrated experience with computer processing platforms such as computers, mobile, or I.O.T. and using that knowledge working in a clustered computing environment.
12. (Desired) Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Python applications for Sponsor or similar enterprise systems.
13. (Desired) Demonstrated experience maintaining applications on AWS EMR to ETL data into Elasticsearch.

MUST be a US Citizen with a U.S. Government clearance - Intel with Polygraph.

NOTE: Must have an active TS-SCI with poly. No sponsorships or upgrades are available. Submissions without this requirement will not be considered. H1-B holders will not be considered.
