Job TITLE: Database Developer - Microsoft SQL Server Developer

Term: Contract to Hire

Skill: In this role, the developer will be responsible for designing and creating SQL objects in MS-SQL databases, working closely with Business Analysts, DBA, and QA staff. The development methodology is iterative, the timelines are very aggressive, and the IT Group is strongly supported by the business.

Experience:

1. At least 5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server developing complex transact queries including stored procedures, functions, and views.
2. Skilled in building clean, well-documented, understandable, reusable SQL code.
3. Clear understanding of the differences and trade-offs between set-based and row-based treatment of data processes.
4. Excellent knowledge of SQL techniques such as CTE and the use of OUTER Joins.
5. Experience in improving data integration processes through performance tuning techniques.
6. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues in database integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking, connectivity, and security.
7. Expertise in Database logical and physical modeling including normalization, identifying/non-identifying relations, data types, and referential integrity.
8. Experience in using Database modeling tools (e.g., Visio).
9. Working knowledge of Visual Studio 2010 (or higher).
10. Working knowledge of TFS is a plus.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills utilizing diagnostic abilities related to database management and data analysis.
12. Experience in code review and acceptance processes in order to improve code quality.
13. Strong documentation skills to facilitate support of ongoing operational responsibilities.
14. Strong emphasis on unit testing and delivering defect-free code to QA.
15. Ability to work quickly in a small-team iterative development environment.
16. Clear verbal and written communication.
17. Demonstrated ability to write clear specifications for complex processes.
