Location: (Annapolis , MD)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to manage and support our Oracle database environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. You will work closely with our development and infrastructure teams to ensure the performance, availability, and security of our Oracle databases.

Top Secret Clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph U.S. Government Clearance Level required

Responsibilities:

• Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patches as required.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schema.
• Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Stay current with Oracle database technology and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as an Oracle Database Engineer or Oracle Database Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
• Experience with Oracle performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Solid understanding of database security best practices.
• Proficiency in Oracle database backup and recovery solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional).
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Oracle Exadata.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL programming language.
• Familiarity with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
