Description
We are currently seeking a talented individual to work as a transportation drainage and water resources lead engineer for design in our Denver, (Centennial), Colorado office. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude. This position also offers opportunities to participate in professional organizations.
- Manages and participates in the preparation of engineering plans and specifications for the design of stormwater management facilities including storm sewer systems, detention facilities, flood control facilities, channel restoration/rehabilitation, bridge hydraulics, culverts, and other hydraulic structures and facilities.
- Manages the preparation of transportation related hydrology and hydraulics studies, including Master Drainage Studies, Drainage Reports, and Bridge Hydraulics Reports.
- Leads the preparation of drainage design calculations and modeling to support design recommendations.
- Directs field studies, surveys, and data collection necessary to develop drainage concepts and construction documents.
- Assists in the preparation of proposals, scope of services, and contract cost estimates.
- Submits documents to federal, state, and local agencies for code compliance review and obtains permits required.
Background requirements include:
- Bachelor or Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- Must possess 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Requires a Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license; CFM certification is a plus.
- Experience with hydraulics and hydrology modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraulic Toolbox, HY-8, Culvert Master, SMS/SRH2D.
- Proficiency with Microstation, InRoads Storm and Sanitary/OpenRoads.
- Prior experience working on projects with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
- Experience with the CLOMR/LOMR process.
- Experience with local municipal design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications.
- Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point.
- Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a project team.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Base Compensation : $120,000 - $140,000
