The SDET team is an integral part of the overall feature development process. We collaborate with our engineers, product managers, and designers to help ship features faster with utmost quality to our customers. As we speed up our product development, we are looking to hire a talented Software Quality Engineering Manager to lead the SDET team who can help advocate for our customer’s experience, increase the velocity of our product and engineering teams, and instill best practices in functional and automation testing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of SDETs and guide the team to automate manual processes and speed up test automation.
  • Drive the efforts to build automation frameworks that would support the execution of a large amount of automation tests in a CI environment with utmost stability and minimum execution time.
  • Support test automation development in a fast agile environment and enable building automation for new features as they are developed.
  • Build strategies to drastically reduce the amount of manual effort needed for any feature release by building a robust automation infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multiple feature teams comprising of engineers, product managers, and designers to drive quality processes.
  • Setup automation best practices for test development, code optimization, and code reviews to build highly efficient non-flaky tests.
  • Expand test coverage across all developed features and develop strategies to be able to detect bugs in the earlier phase of development by leveraging test automation.
  • Design test automation strategies to be able to build automation on all fronts such as web, mobile, API, visual, accessibility, etc.
  • Setup processes to be able to perform load/performance testing of the application to support major feature releases.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the automation code quality or help unblock from any challenging scenarios.
  • Create dashboards and metrics to be able to quantify the quality works for important test artifacts like user stories, test cases, bugs, and most importantly automation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the SDET team as well as the engineering team to be able to implement quality best practices across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field.
  • Experience leading teams of SDETs in building automation frameworks and tools for web and mobile-based applications.
  • Current hands-on expertise in at least one of the programming languages - Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.
  • Hands-on expertise in writing automation code using any of the automation frameworks such as Cypress.io, Playwright, Selenium, Appium.
  • Working experience in git-based repositories like GitHub or GitLab.
  • Experience in integrating automation test frameworks with CI/CD infrastructure such as CircleCI or Jenkins to be able to run the automation jobs in CI environments.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience in team management - Hiring, Mentoring, Performance reviews, providing career paths, and retaining the best talents.
