Position Overview:

Airport Industrial Park (AIPA) is an owner-developed and managed multi-level office/warehouse facility conveniently located next to the Honolulu International Airport. AIPA is a mixed-use office/light industrial facility with over 870,000 square feet, 1,800 parking stalls and 110 tenants. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Honolulu team. The position will work closely with our Development and Construction Management teams and play a key role in various aspects of the development process, beginning with pre-development through design and construction. This role will support multiple projects across various product types while engaging with project teams and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, while meeting our high-quality standards.


The right candidate for this position is a process-driven individual with an aptitude for schedule management, contracts, procurement, technical thinking, and detailed documentation. You will be acting as a hub for schedule tracking and ensuring timely completion of project milestones, the dissemination of information, and helping to push the construction schedule to meet key deadlines. Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain project documentation, including agendas, timelines, budgets, and progress reports
  • Engage and support team members to ensure schedule adherence
  • Monitor project expenses and resource utilization to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints
  • Create, manage and distribute contract documents
  • Interpret construction plans, applicable codes, and specifications
  • Coordinate project planning, including scope, objectives, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including Request for Information (RFI) and correspondence
  • Incorporate all processes and procedures that support the project closeout phase
  • Ability to closely review project submittals and shop drawings for compliance
  • Prepare and coordinate project reports and subcontractor bids
  • Assist in the selection, contracting process, and oversight of subcontractors as necessary

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
  • 3+ years of construction related experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient with Schedule Tracking and Project Management software (e.g. MS Project and/or Primavera)
  • Experience with review and design software such as Bluebeam, Autocad and Revit
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Efficient communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including owner, third-party vendors, consultants and contractors
