Full Stack Java Developer

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking Junior, Mid and Senior Java/JavaScript developers to support a national defense contract at Offutt AFB, NE. Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska is seeking a full-time Software Engineers to join our Global Strike and Product Support 2 (GSPS2) engineering team working with USSTRATCOM in an Agile / DevSecOps environment. Join us and create Web-based and Java mission systems for the Intelligence, Global Strike, and Nuclear Planning communities.
The qualified candidate will work with experienced software engineers executing web development best practices, full-stack design patterns, and secure software techniques in the Rogue Blue Software (RBS) Software environment as part of the Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network (ISPAN) Mission Planning and Application System (MPAS) systems.
Responsibilities will include software development, automated testing, design, defect correction, and interaction with systems engineers, architects, scrum masters, product owners, and end users to deliver mission capabilities for USSTRATCOM.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Junior:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar related discipline plus at least 1 year of direct Java/JavaScript development experience
Mid:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience
- OR Masters plus 3 years of experience
Senior:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 12 years of experience
- OR Master’s degree plus 10 years of experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop full-stack Java based web applications
- Work in an Agile DevSecOps team environment
- Utilize CI/CD pipelines
- Work with microservice architecture
QUALIFICATIONS
- Java or JavaScript (Ext JS, React/Angular/Vue), CSS, and HTML
- Experience with containerization and deployment tools such as Kubernetes, Istio, Podman or similar applications.
- Experience with automated security scanning tools such as OpenSCAP, SonarCube or similar applications
- Experience with database integration and technologies such as SQL
- Messaging Middleware and event-driven data architectures (Kafka, JMS)
- Object-Oriented Design, Model-based engineering
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with development tooling such as Eclipse, Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, GIT, JUnit, Selenium, JIRA
- Direct Experience with Open Container Initiative (OCI) Compliance
- Spring Framework (SpringBoot, WebFlux, WebMvc, SpringSecurity)
- Object/Relational Mapping Framework (Hibernate) and SQL
