Seeking a Senior Estimator with Commercial Electrical Experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.

Salary is between $100,000 - $120,000 per year (based on experience).
In this role, you will assist in gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in hard bid or design/build estimates for electrical projects. You will perform all essential functions and responsibilities in alignment with company policies and values, ensuring compliance with local, county, state, and federal laws.
Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-bid reviews and understand the complete scope of work required.
- Visit construction sites for job walks and meetings.
- Review and understand all project bid documents.
- Locate, notify, and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotes on outsourced electrical work.
- Complete estimate takeoff, using on-screen computer estimating to meet deadlines.
- Complete change order estimates for awarded projects.
- Finalize the estimate on time and participate in team review with management on bid day.
- Evaluate bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, specification compliance, or other bid requirements.
- Prepare value analysis in anticipation of the customer’s best interest.
- Develop the scope of work narrative.
- Assist field operations with the estimate after bid award and at project closeout.
- Prepare proposal letters including scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
- Meet proposal due date schedules.
- Anticipate requirements of producing estimates with little information given.
- Provide consistent follow-up for feedback on bid/proposal, and report results to management.
- Enforce compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, safety standards, and report variances to Chief Estimator.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field; equivalent combination of technical training and work-related experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of five years of commercial electrical construction and conceptual estimating experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and computerized on-screen takeoff programs.
- Experience with Accubid or similar software; current use of McCormick is preferred.
