Cooperative Driving Applications Software Engineer

Join our team as a Simulation Software Engineer for Cooperative Driving Applications (CDA) software development. This role will involve assisting in the development of applications and components for connected vehicles and human factors, integration of simulators, deployment of simulations in cloud environments, and more. Primary Duties:

• Assist in development of applications and components for transportation research
• Design, develop, and test new features and enhancements for existing simulation platforms
• Integration of new simulators into co-simulation environment
• Deployment of simulations in cloud environments
• Resolution of bugs and anomalies reported by simulation users
• Tuning of simulation parameters for specific applications

Systems of interest relate to the following:

• Open-source simulation technologies
• Cloud computing architectures for cloud-based simulation
• Human-factors focused driving simulator technologies
• Integration of multiple simulators into multi-resolution co-simulation platforms
• Intelligent Transportation Systems and Cooperative Driving Automation
• V2X communication hardware, software, and standards

Minimal Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 2+ years' industry experience
• Prior exposure to C++ and scripting in Python or Bash in a Linux environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Interest in working with emerging technologies in transportation
• Working background with distributed computing middleware

Desired Qualifications:

• 4+ years' industry experience in software development
• Project technical leadership experience
• Hands-on development experience with vehicle dynamic and sensor simulation tools
• Knowledge of communication protocols, cloud computing, and Git
