About the Role:
My client, a leading provider of technology and services to the oil and gas industry, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team focused on pumps for oil field services. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of pump design, development, and implementation, ensuring innovative, reliable, and efficient solutions that meet the demands of the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers specializing in pump systems for oil field applications, focusing on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of pump product development, including design, testing, and manufacturing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as R&D, production, and operations to optimize pump designs for deployment in harsh field environments.
- Engage with customers and field teams to understand operational needs, translating these into product improvements and new development initiatives.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring timely delivery of engineering solutions that meet client and business objectives.
- Ensure continuous improvement of pump systems by incorporating the latest technologies and materials to enhance performance and durability.
- Act as a technical expert and liaison between the engineering team and stakeholders, providing insights into product capabilities and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership position.
- Proven experience in pump design and development, ideally within oil field services or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, fluid dynamics, and materials science as it relates to pump technologies.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive innovation and foster a collaborative working environment.
- Strong project management capabilities with a track record of delivering engineering projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
