We are looking for a visionary Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering efforts within a robust Azure and Power BI ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute a strategic vision for data engineering that aligns with the company's goals and objectives, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance within Litera’s EDW.
2. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance on best practices, code reviews, and professional development.
3. Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, architectures, and data sets in Azure to support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science, analytics, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.
5. Implement and maintain robust security measures, ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy policies.
6. Stay current with industry trends and developments in Azure services, Power BI, and related data technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
7. Manage the deployment of machine learning models in collaboration with data scientists, ensuring seamless integration with existing data pipelines and architectures.
8. Ensure high data quality and integrity by implementing quality control measures and monitoring performance.
9. Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools within the organization, leveraging Power BI to create insightful dashboards and reports.
10. Oversee the budget for data engineering projects, including resource allocation and cost optimization.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
2. 10+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex data projects.
3. Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse/Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks.
4. Expertise in Power BI and other BI tools, with experience in dashboard and report development.
5. Strong experience with SQL, Python, Spark, and other data engineering technologies.
6. Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing principles.
7. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a remote team.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
9. Experience with machine learning model deployment and MLOps is a plus.
10. Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security standards.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $125,000 to $140,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Litera offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
