Role: Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Engineer. The ideal candidate would be well versed in many different engineering disciplines including software, electrical, mechanical, and network. This candidate should have experience working in mid to high volume consumer electronics manufacturing developing, deploying, and maintaining automated test systems. Excellent data analysis and debugging skills are also required during test system development as well as to help support existing test stations. This individual should be highly motivated and take initiative to be constantly evaluating current results and striving for continual improvement via a data driven approach.


Responsibilities:

  1. Support existing test stations both on site and remotely.
  2. Develop new automated test systems for new products.
  3. Write test sequences using National Instruments TestStand as well as develop TestStand custom step types in C++.
  4. Design, build, troubleshoot mechanical test fixtures and electrical test equipment interfaces.
  5. Debug and troubleshoot test systems.
  6. Execute and analyze test results.
  7. Develop and maintain databases and tools for data analysis and yield improvement.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer.
  3. Strong programming skills in C/C++ in both Linux and Windows environments. Skills should include multi-threading, interfacing to and controlling hardware such as RS-232, network sockets, SSH, USB.
  4. NI TestStand including threaded sequences and custom step type usage and development.
  5. RF test experience with a focus on WiFi and Bluetooth (Litepoint/IQFact+).
  6. Well versed and comfortable using both Linux and Windows.
  7. Network engineering including DHCP and iptables.
  8. Use of Wireshark to troubleshoot and debug network communication issues.
  9. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to design test fixtures in 3D CAD.
  10. Electrical engineering including interface design, PCB design, assembly, and debug.
  11. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  12. Documentation and technical writing.
