About The Role

As an intern on the Device Automation Software team, you will work with the hardware and software teams to build scalable automated testing to support Humane’s mission to reimagine computing. You will write and automate test plans, build physical and virtual test fixtures, and improve the software test infrastructure by writing tools and bringing infrastructure improvements to existing workflows.

What You Might Do

  1. Contribute to Humane’s device automation framework to enable automation of low level Android system code and high level Android application code.
  2. Contribute to existing Java/Python libraries to create new testing infrastructure.
  3. Set up dashboards for reporting automated test results.
  4. Create automated test fixtures for testing hardware devices.

Essential Qualifications

  1. Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science and/or related engineering fields.
  2. Programming experience in Python, C/C++, and/or Java.
  3. Experience with Git or other SCM tools.
  4. Familiarity with Linux or another Unix-like operating system.

Preferred Skills

  1. Knowledge of one or more continuous integration pipeline software products such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.
  2. Knowledge of Android test frameworks such as the Android ACTS tooling.
  3. Knowledge of electronics and embedded systems.
  4. Ability to read schematics.

Salary Range : $45-$48/per hour

About the 'The Crew' Internship Program

  1. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  2. 'The Crew' Internship Program is currently only offered during the summer.
  3. Minimum of 12 weeks required. Program Dates are:
    • May 5th - July 25th
    • May 19th - August 8th
    • June 2nd - August 22nd
    • June 16th - Sept 5th
  4. Eligibility: students graduating before September 2025 are not eligible for 'The Crew' Internship Program.
