We are seeking a motivated Electronic Technician to support our operations

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Electronics Technician participates in the maintenance, repair, and operation of complex underwater search and recovery systems and subsystems. The technician is required to work in a team environment and handle assignments independently. This position is located in Largo, MD and reports to the Senior Technician.

CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT (HOURLY)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participates in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of
electrical/electronic components within complex search (Side-Scan Sonar, Towed Pinger Locators, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles) and recovery (Remotely Operated Vehicle) (ROV) systems in ready for issue condition in onshore and offshore environments.
* Operates and assists troubleshooting of surface and subsurface positioning systems.
* Maintains logs, records, and documentation updates.
* Assists in collecting and processing side-scan data.
* Pilots/copilots ROVs and operates ROV manipulators.
* Meets all watch standing requirements of search and recovery operations.
* Assists in developing search and recovery plans.
* Assists in mobilization/demobilization of subsea systems aboard offshore vessels.
* Assists with launch and recovery operations of subsea systems aboard offshore vessels.
* Complies with company policies and safety standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Two-year associate's degree of formal electronic-training or four years of equivalent work experience.
* Two years of field experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing sophisticated electronic systems (i.e. computers, microprocessors, Programmable Logic Controllers), CCTV, HD video, sonar, and control circuits to the board level.
* Understanding of the use of test equipment i.e. oscilloscopes, electrical and optical TDRs, high voltage meggers, and network monitors.
* Familiarity with and ability to troubleshoot high voltage generation, control, and switching equipment.
* Familiarity with automation hardware, software, and sensors.
* Knowledge of network architecture, including subnets, security, TCP/IP, and UDP communications.
* Ability to solder through-hole and surface-mount components down to SOIC and 0805 size components.
* Knowledge of digital and analog systems.
* Knowledge of fiber optics.
* Ability to read and troubleshoot from schematics.
* Computer competence in Microsoft Office and Windows environment.
* Team player with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
* Understanding of offshore rigging and safety practices.
* Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
* Ability to travel worldwide, on short notice, for indefinite periods of time.
* Ability to work safely in the facility and on ships at sea.
* Ability to walk unassisted and carry 75 pounds.
* Ability to see and/or hear equipment readouts.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and physical, as required.
