The Process Engineer 1 (PE1) will support foundational process engineering activities at Fluid Quip Technologies. This entry-level role involves learning and contributing to the process engineering workflow from initial project conception through detailed engineering, commissioning, system start-up, and plant optimization. The PE1 will focus on executing tasks under the guidance of senior engineers while developing their technical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Engineering:

  • Develops, with assistance, process engineering deliverables such as: Design Basis, Mass & Energy Balances, Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Learns to size and specify equipment, piping, instrumentation and valves
  • Learns to perform process engineering calculations and process modeling in ChemCad
  • Develops an understanding of the FQT Process Engineering Deliverables throughout the FEL process (Front-end Loading)
  • Supports R&D activities and plant trials related to develop FQT technologies
Communication:
  • Maintains clear and timely communication with senior engineers, manager, and project teams
  • Assists in documenting and reporting project progress to ensure alignment with goals
Safety and Quality:
  • Adheres to and promote a strong safety culture within the engineering team
  • Ensures high-quality work environments by following QA/QC processes
Technical Proficiency:
  • Develops proficiency in basic chemical engineering calculations
  • Begins to understand, interpret, and design P&IDs and construction drawings
Project Management:
  • Learns process engineering standards and specifications, and how they fit into the project delivery system workflow
  • Developing an understanding of the process engineering deliverables throughout the FEL process

Technical Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Passed or working towards passing FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam
  • 0-5 years of practical engineering experience, including internships.
  • Basic knowledge of process engineering principles, mass and energy balances, and system/equipment sizing.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of workdays.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
