DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Location: Remote or Hybrid (Atlanta, GA) - Onsite 2-3 days per week
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our AWS environments, supporting development, testing, and production systems. This role will involve close collaboration with both onshore and offshore teams to drive efficiency in cloud usage and ensure smooth operations across a range of projects, including internal ERP systems, e-commerce platforms, and third-party integrations. The position can be fully remote or hybrid, with onsite work expected 2-3 times per week at our Atlanta office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure robust infrastructure and secure access isolation within AWS environments.
  • Build and maintain toolsets for tracking build failures, logging production errors, and managing data integrity.
  • Rapidly identify and resolve production issues in collaboration with the development team.
  • Monitor and maintain system, framework, and code security using third-party tools, scans, and testing protocols.
  • Automate manual processes within development pipelines to reduce human intervention.
  • Work with product owners and scrum masters to integrate release management tools and automation into the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
  • Manage various subscription services used in both development and production environments.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in development and operations engineering.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services (S3, ECS, EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, CodeBuild), with a focus on infrastructure and security.
  • Proficient in GitHub, Docker, and common CI/CD practices for both frontend and backend systems.
  • Familiarity with coding/scripting languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, XML, YAML, and JSON.
  • Knowledge of Django web frameworks, Celery, and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Ability to quickly learn, organize environments, and document system configurations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing systems like Jira/Confluence, GitHub accounts, SSO integration, and data/error reporting tools.
  • Availability to address and resolve production issues as they arise.
  • Ability to work either remotely or in a hybrid capacity at our Atlanta office.
