TEKsystems Client within the Automotive sector is looking for 4 content designers to be part of their team that creates experiences that solve both business and customer problems. You'll partner with the UX team, product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to design, write, edit, and test clear, in-product content across our mobile, web, and in-vehicle digital experiences to help customers find and understand the information they need.


Responsibilities:

  1. Lead content design for key program areas. Become an expert in the features, functionality, and business objectives - and an authority on the customers and content needs.
  2. Collaborate with UX designers from project initiation to delivery, creating content as you iterate with design partners on concepts, user flows, and prototypes.
  3. Conduct content discovery, including inventories, audits, and competitive research.
  4. Organize content for discovery and findability.
  5. Write useful, accessible copy for dialogs, empty states, alerts, tooltips, help text, navigation labels, and onboarding.
  6. Identify when and why research is needed to inform a content approach.
  7. Test, evaluate and improve content. Collaborate with your UX Researcher about when and how to use analytics, customer success data, voice of the customer, and methods like A/B testing, readability testing, usability testing, and navigation model testing.
  8. Collaborate with UX Designer and Researcher partners on discovery work like card sorts, user surveys, interviews, and workshops.
  9. Provide a clear rationale for content design decisions at reviews and share outs. Help partners understand how you're using content design to define and solve customer needs as the foundation of those decisions.
  10. Advocate for the customer and foster empathy from stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  1. BA/BS degree or higher in Journalism, Communications, Research, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and an open mind.
  3. Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong understanding of English grammar and mechanics.
  4. Ability to align with brand voice and tone standards.
  5. Experience with design methods and tools, including Figma.
  6. Experience in design thinking and human-centered design methodologies, including facilitating workshops.
  7. Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  8. Flexible and adaptable, able to work through ambiguity.
  9. Ability to simplify complex business requirements and translate them into clear and compelling human-sounding content for users.
  10. Ability to support the evolution of the UX content style guide.
  11. Understanding of and alignment with the principles of accessibility and inclusion in your content (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2 requirements).
  12. Working in an agile development environment; working in design sprints and using Jira to write user stories and plan and track your work.

Compensation Rates:

Compensation rates are currently targeting between $50-$60/hr on contract depending on experience.


Contract Duration:

Contract is currently slated as 1 year with opportunity to extend and/or convert in the future.


Office Expectations:

Expectations for this opportunity is 3 days in office at their location in Torrance, CA or Raymond, Ohio. There is an opportunity for this individual to be remote if not located in either location.
