Automation Engineer

Pacific International has been exclusively retained to assist a key client, an innovative market leader within the food and flavor manufacturing industry. With under 1,000 employees and 7 sites across the globe, this organization aims to deliver science and technology that improve the flavor and taste of several leading brands.

This industry leader with over 100 years of experience assisting brands with their flavor and recipes is looking for an experienced engineer to join their team and help deliver value to their well-recognized client's food and beverage clients in the US. As they remain a pioneer in the space, they have been experiencing significant growth and are looking for a seasoned, self-driven, and creative Control System Engineer to join and help improve one of their most critical sites establishing their controls and automation vision and strategy.

This position demands a strong understanding of constructing long-term improvement plans, managing and providing updates to the site’s SCADA system and automation procedures, and help running larger capital projects from concept to completion. Throughout the automation process, this individual will need to be resourceful and strategic in understanding their biggest challenges and areas for improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain instrumentation, automation, and control systems using standard engineering techniques.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications, interfaces, and embedded controls.
• Participate in the setup and commissioning of new processes and upgrades.
• Assist the maintenance department in troubleshooting and resolving electrical and control issues.
• Recommend improvements for operational safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems and procedures.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to strategize system upgrades.
• Ensure the safety of control systems and equipment.
• Develop and help improve the site’s automation systems and procedures.
• Create and improve PLC and HMI applications.
• Direct the advancement of the site’s SCADA environment.
• Roll out corporate initiatives and direct relevant CAPEX projects from start to finish.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable experience.
• Market knowledge of relevant automation, controls, and engineering trends and improvements.
• Understanding of programming and ladder logic.
