Oracle Senior Software Development Manager - Salt Lake City, Utah

As a Senior Manager of Software Development in the Container Runtime organization, you will build critical components of the execution engine that will host high-performance OCI services.

As part of a larger, multi-team project, we are improving the platform for running Oracle Cloud services. This improved platform will allow us to enhance operations, scaling, and developer experience. You will build a team that will run the full variety of OCI services, including our most demanding, high-performance, high-availability services. You will have the opportunity to work with our senior technical leadership to define, design, and develop solutions to some of the most complex problems.

These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives such as providing canonical implementation of core components for data planes through a data-plane runtime framework, developing standards and tooling to identify critical performance improvements across OCI data-planes.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and coach engineering teams to deliver successful products and services.
2. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
3. Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
4. Set the technical direction for a foundational data-plane component used across OCI.
5. Coach, mentor, and develop top talent.
6. Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for the team.
7. Define new KPIs to inform decision-making and prioritization.
8. Set goals and expectations for performance and work with employees to establish specific, measurable goals and commitments.

Basic Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of management experience in enterprise software.
2. 7+ years of experience with applications development with 2+ years in large scale distributed applications/web services/systems design.
3. Proficient in programming in C/C++, Java, Python.
4. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 7+ years of management experience.
2. Prior development experience in Cloud Infrastructure or low-level systems engineering.
3. Master's/PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields.

Compensation and Benefits

US: Hiring Range: from $84,700 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
