Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate support for the application of ABB PLC/HMIs and LV drives in various industrial processes, systems, and applications. You will design and recommend tailored solutions based on a deep knowledge of our portfolio and capabilities to meet customers’ unique needs. Your role will involve negotiating deviations, agreeing on win-win solutions, and identifying new functional solutions to address current business issues. You will advise on the delivery of high-quality solutions, continuously aim to meet targets even in challenging circumstances, and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will manage PLC/HMI motor application problems, create detailed technical reports, and collaborate with OEM Application Engineers to support tailored solutions offered by ABB in the region.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred) and 8 years’ experience in the application of Low Voltage drive required
  • Travel up to 50% required
  • Exceptional technical application and technical communication skills
  • Understanding of Serial and Ethernet communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Etc)
  • Programming experience in industrial PLCs (ABB, Rockwell, Siemens, Square D, or others) and basic understanding of Compressors, Pump & Fan, Extruder, Crane, Hoists & Winches, Centrifuge, General Machinery and other applications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
