Job Description

Position Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities required to achieve Global Product Compliance across multiple product lines for Tokyo Electron.

Responsibilities:

  1. Applies direct knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering and systems controls engineering to help ensure TEL US designs are robust and fail safe.
  2. Facilitates the management of change (MOC), within the design review process.
  3. Reviews designs and takes responsibility to improve the process workflows/efficiency for the engineering teams.
  4. Utilizes complex methods for hazard identification and follows up with detailed risk assessment of those hazards.
  5. Proactively identifies and provides logical details regarding tradeoffs and risks towards accepting or rejecting proposed design changes.
  6. Maintains up-to-date knowledge on international product design requirements, regulations, standards, and guidance.
  7. Investigates new regulations and studies new design requirements.
  8. In collaboration with corporate Product Engineering teams, helps create innovative TEL engineering training courses.
  9. Mentors, coaches and educates selected TEL managers and design engineers on compliance with international design standards.
  10. Participates in the formal SEMI Standard writing and voting process.
  11. Reviews and approves engineering change orders (ECOs), technical documents, and other key documents as a member of project teams.
  12. Prepares high-quality presentation materials and training materials for project objectives and communication.

Qualifications:

  1. Candidate must be able to work full-time.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent major.
  3. 5+ years of relevant experience in highly regulated import/export sector, preferably with Semiconductor Industry.
  4. Familiarity with worldwide Product regulations and applicable laws.
  5. Ability to analyze complex laws and regulations and relate those laws to design requirements.
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate to senior management regarding design and environmental requirements.
  7. Knowledge and experience with mechanical/electrical drawings, Bill of Materials and user documentation.
  8. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with business leadership.
  9. Ability to prioritize responsibly and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate and work effectively within all organizational levels.
  11. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  12. Knowledge of Product Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health laws and regulations.
  13. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.
  14. Knowledge of ISO type Quality Systems.

Physical Requirements: Job duties may be performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. Occasional overnight travel to TEL factory, training facilities, and customer locations may be required.
