We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our automotive client in Washington. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing supplier-base quality performance and ensuring compliance with our Quality Management System (IATF 16949) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Improve Supplier Quality Performance through second-party audits defined within the QMS.
  2. Manage supplier PPAP requirements during development and mass production.
  3. Support gauge design and manufacturing, part measurement, and supplier part approval processes.
  4. Collaborate with the Design and Development (D&D) team for design and product validation testing.
  5. Assist in investigations and troubleshoot product and production issues.
  6. Contribute to developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  7. Conduct performance reviews and establish action plans with the supplier/commodity.
  8. Manage the supplier scorecard population/distribution within the required timeframe.
  9. Adhere to IATF 16949 guidelines.
  10. Work closely within the department to provide support and guidance.
  11. Manage and track Supplier quality concerns and warranty claims for effective closure.
  12. Participate in cost reduction efforts.
  13. Be flexible with potential overtime and open to changes in job roles for departmental flexibility.
  14. Plan travel to suppliers’ locations for product development and second-party audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. ONC/NC in a relevant field (Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline).
  2. HNC in Engineering (advantageous).
  3. Demonstrable understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  4. Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
  5. Certification as an Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor.
  6. Experience in conducting Second Party Audits.
  7. Experience with interactions of both suppliers and customers.
  8. Willingness to learn and develop quality assurance procedures and processes.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Basic problem-solving skills for identifying and addressing quality issues.
  11. Computer literate within the MS package.

Career Path: As an SQA Engineer, you have the potential to advance to QA Production Engineer and then further to QA Senior Engineer.
