POSITION PURPOSE: Keep all building and equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Chief Engineer and/or Senior Plant. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering services to both guests and associates while sharing day-to-day knowledge and skills. The hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize and be aware that at times it may be necessary to change shifts to meet business demands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Perform daily shift reports.
  2. Document all calls in the Engineer’s log.
  3. Monitor and close out calls through Operator.
  4. Follow all OSHA standards and procedures.
  5. Maintain interior and exterior of building.
  6. Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guests and associate requests.
  7. Perform PM on all FF&E.
  8. Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water.
  9. Troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain the following:
  • All building and FF&E
  • HVAC; Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration equipment
  • Electrical systems
  • Mechanical equipment, i.e. motors, starters, pumps, fans, generators and chillers
  • Plumbing and drains
  • Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
  • Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms and appearance are maintained.
  • Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
  • Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
  • Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    2. Previous engineering experience preferred.
    3. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
    4. Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
    5. Must be able to work as an independent mechanic.
    6. Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions.
    7. Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
    8. Must be punched in, in uniform and ready for work as scheduled.
    9. Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
    10. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
    11. Must be flexible with a positive attitude.
