POSITION PURPOSE: Keep all building and equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance and preventative maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Chief Engineer and/or Senior Plant. Continually work towards and support the improvement of engineering services to both guests and associates while sharing day-to-day knowledge and skills. The hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize and be aware that at times it may be necessary to change shifts to meet business demands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform daily shift reports.
- Document all calls in the Engineer’s log.
- Monitor and close out calls through Operator.
- Follow all OSHA standards and procedures.
- Maintain interior and exterior of building.
- Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guests and associate requests.
- Perform PM on all FF&E.
- Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water.
- Troubleshoot, repair and/or maintain the following:
- All building and FF&E
- HVAC; Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration equipment
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical equipment, i.e. motors, starters, pumps, fans, generators and chillers
- Plumbing and drains
- Pneumatic and electronic systems and controls
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous engineering experience preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as Lockout Tag Out, MSDS, safety awareness information, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
- Must be able to work as an independent mechanic.
- Must be able to analyze problems, identify course of action and implement solutions.
- Represent the company in a courteous and well-groomed manner.
- Must be punched in, in uniform and ready for work as scheduled.
- Must be able to use and understand hand and power tools.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist and stretch.
- Must be flexible with a positive attitude.
