Akkodis currently has a Software Developer position with a client located in Rochester, NY.
Pay/Salary Range: $45.00-53.00/hr. The is a hybrid position so the person needs to live within 50 miles of Rochester, NY. No C2C or agencies can be used.
The Software Developer will be responsible for the design and development of new software features and enhancements as defined and under the guidance of the application’s functional manager. The candidate has adequate experience to act as the subject matter expert for the features/functions he or she develops, as well as a key contributor to the design, test, debug and documentation processes. This candidate must have enthusiasm and passion for technology, its application to solve business problems, and ensuring applications are best-in-class.
Qualified:
- Share responsibility in the design and architecture of features.
- Ensure that the proper infrastructure is in place for feature development.
- Thoroughly and accurately assess complexity and level of effort for feature development.
- Demonstrate expertise in a technology area (certification or demonstrable expertise).
- Implement features based on specifications in the most vertical fashion (i.e., UI, business rules, database access layers, external interfaces, and actual database scheme design).
- Ensure overall quality of implementation and support features during testing/bug fixing phase of the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure overall quality of their code within the overall project.
- Support and execute based on the direction set by their manager and within the timelines provided.
- Write and execute unit tests for features being implemented.
- Conduct/participate in code reviews as required.
- Work closely with other developers and QA personnel to ensure feature functionality and quality.
- Demonstrate and explain completed features to stakeholders.
- Participate and collaborate in project planning & review meetings as required.

- Azure Devops experience
- Automated test development experience
- Experience with drivers or low-level hardware interfaces.
- Solid communication skills, written and verbal.
- Effective communication with peers, ability to multitask and successfully work in a team environment with a “can-do” attitude.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to adhere to coding standards and conduct routine code reviews.
- Ability to build positive work relationships and serve as a mentor for others.
