As an engineer on the eduCLIMBER team, you’ll work on a rapidly growing product that impacts over 3 million students in the US. Our team is highly collaborative and continuously works to ensure eduCLIMBER is reliable, scalable, and robust. Our stack includes PHP, Python, MySQL, AWS, and Linux.

As a Director of Engineering, you will:

1. Lead a team of engineers who will report to you directly.
2. Work in close collaboration with Product Owners and other key stakeholders to expand and enhance eduCLIMBER.
3. Drive key architecture initiatives to allow eduCLIMBER to efficiently scale as our feature set and customer base grows.
4. Collaborate with our Data Engineering team to help design and implement new services and pipelines that support key integrations with various systems.
5. Get hands-on contributing to the codebase or other implementation tasks.
6. Lead and mentor other engineers to promote growth across the team.
7. Participate in an on-call rotation to assist with operational support for our US customers.

For this role as a Director of Engineering, you must have:

1. Experience managing teams of engineers.
2. 8+ years of experience developing APIs.
3. 4+ years of experience developing, deploying, and hosting applications on AWS.
4. 4+ years of experience developing against MySQL or equivalent RDBMS.
5. 2+ years of experience with Linux and Docker.
6. Strong knowledge of various automated testing frameworks.
7. Strong technical documentation and diagramming skills.
8. Strong CS fundamentals, solid knowledge of OOP/OOD.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working in K-12 EdTech.

Salary Range: $145,800 to $200,400. This range is based on national market data and may vary by location.
