Primary Duties:

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice capacity planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Manage all external registration requirements to ensure they are met. Communicate with external bodies on all matters relating to registration.
  • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
  • Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns.
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.
  • Train others in all aspects of the AS9100 quality system and application of procedures.
  • Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS.
  • Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address nonconformities found.
  • Verify closure of non-conformities with Certification Bodies.
  • Provide detailed analysis of nonconformities.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System.
  • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
  • Produce written reports and make presentations.
  • Undertake continuous training and development.
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management of, and reporting.
  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
  • Communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers.
  • Ensure MFCP aerospace and defense adheres to all applicable AS9100 standards.
  • Prepare, manage and oversee AS9100 audits of Louisville facility ensuring continued certification.
  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements.
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality requirements.
  • Participate and assist in customer contract reviews, specifically quality standard requirements.
  • Perform product inspections and complete quality documentation including but not limited to Part Submission Warrants, First Article Inspections, Certificates of Conformance and Production Parts Approval Process documents.
  • Support calibration activities as necessary.
  • Support compliance documentation generation such as (REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, etc.).
  • Adhere to strict Safety Guidelines.
  • Ensure all Production is adhering to SOPs set forth by AS9100.

Basic Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with three (3) years previous experience preferred.
  • Previous background should include knowledge of product inspection and quality documentation generation as well as a demonstrated ability to work well with customers and suppliers.
  • A detailed understanding of AS9100.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience preferred.
  • Corrective Action management experience preferred (5-Why, 8D, etc.).
  • Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs.
  • Excellent technical and math abilities.
  • Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes.
  • Experience with distribution and familiarity with our product lines, a plus.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring and climbing ladders as needed. Work environment mainly office, but may vary including: warehouse containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature and inventory in various storage arrangements, office work, manufacturing, machine shops, agricultural operations, and any other specific business operations of current or potential vendors and customers.
