PeerSource is currently recruiting for an AWS Data Analyst / Engineer on a Contract basis for our client in Englewood, CO.


Summary


We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Analyst to implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions in the cloud. The ideal candidate will leverage AWS services, big data, and machine learning frameworks to optimize data pipelines. This role requires proficiency in cloud data warehouses, complex SQL, and handling large volumes of data for processing, ensuring alignment with the organization’s data and cloud transformation initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Deploy enterprise-ready, secure, and compliant data-oriented solutions leveraging Data Warehouse, Big Data, and Machine Learning frameworks.
  • Optimize data engineering and machine learning pipelines for efficiency and scalability.
  • Support the organization’s data and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to cloud strategy based on hands-on experience with cloud and data technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to deliver strategic solutions.
  • Assist in defining and implementing both technical and business strategies for data architecture and infrastructure.


Required Skills

  • 7-10 years in data warehousing with recent experience as a Data Warehouse/Big Data Analyst & Engineer, particularly in cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated project experience leading AWS cloud transformations.
  • Strong experience with AWS services including EMR, Glue, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, IAM, and Lambda.
  • Proficiency with Scala/Python/Advanced Java and shell scripting.
  • Experience in writing spark streaming jobs (producers/consumers) using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis is required.
  • Experience with large-scale data integration in AWS and machine learning data pipelines using Spark.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning for large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with big data frameworks like MapReduce, HDFS, Hive/Impala, and AWS Athena.
  • Knowledge of managing and tuning resource management frameworks such as Yarn, Mesos, or Spark.
  • Telecommunication experience is a plus but not required.
