FIRST BRANDS GROUP (Peterson Spring) is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer for our facility located in Athens, GA.
This position will be tasked to develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls; and coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The position includes a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
- Drive process improvement and plant profitability through dedicated problem solving. Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, costing, tooling, and materials. Design and conduct research programs. Confer with equipment vendors and solicit observations from operators.
- Educate, motivate and lead teams. Improve manufacturing methods, processes, scheduling, work instructions and training to achieve maximum production capacity and efficiency.
- Evaluate and submit recommendations on manufacturing quality control processes, manufacturing methods to be adopted, list(s) of processes to be followed, as well as tooling and fixtures.
- Calculate the time, workspace, equipment, logistics and manpower requirements for new and existing programs. Submit production costs, labor and material requirements for on-time program launch and product delivery. This position will require the individual to be a hands-on fact finder.
- Submit compelling statistical data supporting critical recommendations to management, which identify the future requirements of manufacturing.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate must anticipate challenges and implement sustainable solutions. This expert must be able to identify design, feasibility, and capacity issues across multiple departments. This charismatic problem solver must educate, motivate, and lead teams through methodical process improvements. This candidate must provide engineering support to a two-shift operation. A sense of urgency, integrity, and discipline are a must.
- 4-year degree and/or equivalent experience required; BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume high-mix manufacturing environment. Prior quoting experience is a plus.
- Auto CAD and NX proficiency.
