MBDA Inc. is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- The ideal candidate will have deep experience in an aerospace design and manufacturing facility, particularly design experience in high – g environments such as cannon fired projectiles. Possesses excellent communication skills both verbal and written and is able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the design and analysis of composite and metal structures, and bonded and bolted assemblies using static and dynamic load modeling.
- Perform relationally linked modeling, Load and Stress analysis, Safety Margin analysis, establishing datum schemes for assemblies, and performing tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Must have design experience for high – g environments such as cannon fired projectiles.
- 10+ Years of related experience in design engineering function with Bachelor’s degree or 8+ Years with Master’s degree.
- 2+ Years of experience with Siemens NX or Catia V5 for component and assembly design.
- 2+ Years of experience with Simulia Abaqus Unified FEA.
- Assembly level design including establishment of data schemes, safety margin and tolerance analysis.
- Knowledge of metallic and composite materials and manufacturing processes.
- CAD Automation, programming, structural modeling and script writing experience.
- Missile / projectile / flight vehicle structural design experience.
- Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year College or University in Mechanical Engineering.
- Master's degree or Doctor of Philosophy degree from an accredited College or University a plus.
- Must have active US DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain US DoD Secret Clearance.

Requires full-time work during regular business hours. Work outside regular business hours may be required to complete assignments. In the performance of essential duties, requires mental alertness, keen vision, ability to sit for long periods of time. Requires frequent use of computer and/or calculator. Working conditions are typical office conditions.
