Make a difference as a Test Engineer

PTI Technologies is seeking a motivated Test Engineer with entry to mid-level development experience in the aerospace industry to enhance our dynamic team. This role involves performing critical testing for the development and production of new products, as well as modifications to existing ones. You will develop comprehensive test procedures, prepare detailed reports that reflect your analysis of test results, and design specialized test devices as needed. Your responsibilities will include evaluating mechanical and electrical requirements while adhering to specifications and customer demands.

You will maintain effective communication with your assigned group, ensuring smooth workflow management and progress reporting. Utilizing your knowledge of hydraulic systems, filters, manifolds, and pumps, you will operate a variety of mechanical and electronic test equipment. By leading troubleshooting efforts and integrating test articles, you will play a pivotal role in achieving excellence and safety within aerospace product development.

To thrive as a Test Engineer at PTI Technologies, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. What matters most is that you have a solid understanding of electro/mechanical theory, as well as testing practices and procedures, is essential for success. Effective multitasking abilities and self-motivation will empower you to make a significant impact on our projects. Proficiency in technical writing and excellent communication skills are critical, as you will collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless operations. Hands-on experience with hand and machine tools is necessary, along with knowledge of MS Office products like Excel and Word.

Familiarity with CAD software such as Solidworks or Pro-E, along with programming skills in LabView, C++, or VBA, will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Additionally, an understanding of hydraulics, electrical schematics, and regulations like MIL-STD and ISO will further contribute to your success as a Test Engineer.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with different departments.
  • Skill in various types of hand and machine tool operation.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of CAD (Solidworks, Pro-E).
  • Knowledge of programming (LabView,C++, VBA) and/or application development.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to unfamiliar demands or requirements.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and operation.
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring.
  • Knowledge of various industry standards (MIL-STD-810, RTCS DO-160).
  • Skill in high pressure plumbing and tube fitting.
